Exchange Visit Grants
Under the British Heart Foundation Research Excellence Award an Exchange Visits Grant has been set up to aid in the establishment of an active programme of national and international exchange to a) strengthen existing collaborations and b) establish new collaborations within the strategic aims of the REA award. It is expected that in addition to being of benefit to the applicant, awards made under this scheme will lead to substantive added value for the Centre, for example by facilitating the establishment of new skills.
These awards are intended to support the costs of travel and accommodation, however the Board will consider requests for a contribution to the costs of consumables where these are clearly justified, and up to a maximum value of £1,000 per month.
All members of the Centre for Cardiovascular Science and our strategic partners within the REA are eligible to apply. Applications will be considered on a case by case basis by the REA Scientific Board, and preference will be given to students Post Doc and junior members of the faculty.
Grant applicants must demonstrate the following on their application
- how their research and career would benefit from the visit;
- how the Centre will benefit e.g. will the applicant be providing talks and/or training to Centre staff following the visit
- how the visit will assist in building a strategic collaboration with the centre they are visiting.
